US Trustee Elected to Nation’s Top Medical Societies

University School trustee Pamela B. Davis, M.D., Ph.D., Dean of the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, has won election to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (IOM), one of the nation's most prestigious societies for health and medicine.

Dr. Davis joined University School's Board of Trustees this year.

A renowned physician and medical researcher, Dr. Davis was named Dean of the School of Medicine in 2007. She is also a professor of pediatrics, physiology and biophysics, and a professor of molecular biology and microbiology at the university. Dr. Davis has published more than 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals, holds seven U.S. patents, and has received continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health for more than three decades.

She joined the Case Western Reserve medical school faculty in 1981 after earning her undergraduate degree at Smith College and medical and doctoral degrees at Duke University.
