    Winning Hoops

7th grade basketball team wins conference tournament.

For the first time, University School's seventh grade basketball team won the Lake-Geauga Middle School Conference Tournament held recently at LaMuth Middle School in Painesville, Ohio.

"US has participated in the league for 12 years but this is the first time we've won the tournament," said Adam Lowenfeld, Athletic Director at the Shaker Campus. "We are the underdog playing against schools with a larger number of boys enrolled in our conference, so it speaks to the boys' work ethic and belief in each other and their coaches that they finished on top of the league."

Lowenfeld commended the dedication of the students and the hard work of Head Coach Tim Klein and his Assistant Coaches, Laura Pickwick and Joshua Bailey, US '99.

The members of the US seventh grade team are: Captains Connor Adams and Andrew Mayor, along with Max Feldman, Reid Banbury, Craig Centa, Antonio Dargaj, John Dumas, Grant Friedman, Ben Hebert, Joshua Hunter, Brad Rehak, Brandon Scadlock, and Jack Young.
