June - July 2018
This fabulous two-week program explored different regions of China and delved into Chinese culture.
Upper school boys and faculty member Michael Leone took a two-week trip to China as part of the school's international travel program. The group explored different regions of China including Beijing and Xi’an, and south to Guilin, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. They visited the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Ming dynasty tombs, Terracotta Warriors, and other important sights.
In Xi’an the boys met with students and educators from the High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiao Tong University. Highlights of this visit were attending school for with Chinese counterparts and living with host families. US students had ample time to practice their Chinese language skills!
The group reveled in the natural beauty of China, seeing Elephant Trunk Hill, rice terraces, several parks and caves, and West Lake. They explored some temples and very old city centers before heading to the modern economic center Shanghai – the illustrious city on the China Sea – before flying home.
