Spanish Honors Society Receives Chapter of the Year

The upper school's Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) Chapter received the "Chapter of the Year Award" for the 2020 school year!

The US Chapter was chosen from 2,900 national and international chapters of the SHH. Faculty advisor, Alondra Pacheco, stated, "I am tremendously proud of the work that the SHH Chapter accomplished in just 2 short years. I want to thank all of my members from this year for continuing to volunteer virtually during our time at home. It would have been easier to stop trying, but we aimed to be better. Also, I particularly want to thank Michael Castellanos ’19 and Tate Flack ’20 for being my founding members and past two presidents, and for showing such amazing leadership and compassion."

The SHH is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. They present up to five Chapter of the Year Awards annually to chapters based on the quality and quantity of activities, numbers of contributions to Albricias, and exemplary activities in promoting the goals of the SHH.
