Senior Named Science Research Scholar

Kapadia researched an innovative method to assist in percutaneous heart valve surgery with his original scientific project, “Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Morphology: Analysis from Sheep Hearts to Normal and Diseased Human Hearts.” His research was done under the guidance of Cleveland Clinic cardiologist Dr. Serge Harb.

Scholars were chosen based on their exceptional research skills, commitment to academics, innovative thinking, and promise as scientists. The nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors, Regeneron is a program of the Society for Science & the Public and provides students a national stage to present original research that brings a fresh perspective to significant global challenges.

Sohum will receive $2,000, and University School will also receive $2,000 to use toward STEM-related activities.
