Music Teacher Shares Expertise

Mrs. Bird poured her passion for teaching popular music into a talk called, "Hip-Hop; It's Elemental" at the Association for Popular Music Education (APME) Conference at Loyola University in New Orleans with Mr. Kenrick Wagner from the University of South Florida.

Mrs. Bird enjoys music education conferences and regularly attends both as a presenter and a learner. This summer, she will also present at the International Music Education Summit online and at the Modern Band Summit at Colorado State University. She will share her ideas in a session called "Access and Attitudes Toward Popular Music in Elementary Music Education."
