The Conway Chair in Social Studies

was established in 1996 by William E. Conway ’45 to support the teaching of Social Studies at the Shaker Campus.

Chair holder William Johnson teaches seventh grade social studies, chairs that Middle School Department. He has served as former dean of the seventh grade and point person for community engagement. He and several others inaugurated the Soup Kitchen and School Garden programs. He received his B.A. from The University of Northern Colorado and his M.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
