The Bruce Griswold ’34 Chair in Mathematics

was established in 1987 to support great mathematics teaching and symbolizes the school's commitment to good teachers by giving them the status and recognition they deserve as leaders of a great profession. Funds were raised from Bruce Griswold's friends, fellow lawyers and alumni.

Chair holder Terrance Kessler joined University School in 1981. He teaches mathematics, is the McCarraher Housemaster and advises the Daniel W. LoPresti ’03 Philanthropic Board. Mr. Kessler was educated at St. Ignatius High School, Marquette University, The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Case Western Reserve University, and The University of Idaho.
