Robotics Team Competes at Worlds

US Robotics finished a stellar season at the FIRST Tech World Championship in Detroit last weekend. The team and their robot performed consistently well throughout days of fierce competition against some of the best robotics teams in the world. They won three out of four matches, and at the end of three days of competition ranked 17th out of 64 teams in their division.

US Robotics qualified for the FIRST Tech World Championship by capturing the state championship in February and accumulating enough overall points at the Super Regionals event in March.

"It truly is a world championship: there are teams here from the Netherlands, Jamaica, China, Romania, Russia, Israel, India, Taiwan and South Korea," said Coach Peter Sweeney. "In between matches the boys have been studying, exploring the Innovation Fair, and making friends with other teams. It has been a great tournament and we are already making plans for a triumphant return next year!"
