Business & Entrepreneurship Contests

US PITCH CUP
The US Pitch Cup requires students to develop a business idea, write a short elevator pitch, and present their pitch in the form of a 60-90 second video. Three winners were chosen from more than 50 entries.
  • First place winner is Tommy Coyne '19 with his pitch for the QuickHands Ball, a basketball training tool that lets you to practice dribbling and shooting with limited feel.
  • Second place winner is Michael Letterio '18 and his pitch for CitySurge, an intelligent cable that simplifies electric car charging by integrating charging and network communication equipment.
  • Third place winner is Kyle Winings '18 and his pitch for Blitz Socks, athletic socks that use a double layer of Gortex to eliminate the formation of blisters.  
US ENTREPRENEUR CUP
The US Entrepreneur Cup allows students to work individually or as a team to identify a problem or business opportunity, develop a solution to this problem, and write a business plan about how to create, promote and deliver their business solution. Each team makes a 10-minute live presentation to a panel of judges. Prizes were awarded to the following teams.
  • First place winner is Tommy Coyne '19 for the QuickHands Ball, a dimple-less practice basketball that’s the same size and weight as a regular basketball but requires more focus and makes you a more skilled and confident player when you switch back to the regular ball.
  • Second prize team winners are Sam Heller '21 and Graham Winings '21 for Plow, an app that eliminates the need for a seasonal snow plow contract.
  • Third place team winners are Bobby Housel '19, Jake Nordell '19, Clayton Lovell '19 and Max Borsch '19 for Ball Out, an app that makes it easy for anyone to find a pick-up basketball game with the click of a button on their smart phone.
