Two students, Turner Whitmoyer ’20 and Jae Smith ’22 achieved their Level 1 Certification thru the National Association of Rocketry to fly high power rockets. The certification requires the flyer to build a high power rocket completely on their own and demonstrate they can fly it safely. The recovery system must function, and the flyer must answer some basic technical questions about their rocket and the motor they are using. After the flight, the rocket must be reviewed by the witnesses of the flight to insure it is undamaged and then signed off as a valid certification. The team also launched other individual and group projects. Congratulations to Turner and Jae for their successful certification flights!
