All Middle School Faculty Trained in Restorative Practices

Over the summer of 2021, all of our fifth to eighth grade teachers engaged in two days of Restorative Practices training. In much the same way US does an excellent job educating our boys academically, we also strive to grow our boys socially and emotionally and to help them make better decisions. The Restorative Practices approach builds empathy by helping students understand the impact of their actions on others and strengthens positive community. John Fay, Middle School Dean of Students explains, “Restorative Practices help teachers use relationships with students and care to navigate wrongdoing and restore balance through conversations and mediation. The approach has provided boys opportunities to listen and learn about and from each other.”
