About the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition

A panel of local professional artists, art educators, writers, and writing educators jury the regional exhibit in partnership with the Cleveland Institute of Art and select the awarded pieces from nearly 2,000 entries from over 55 schools in the Cleveland area.

Artists and writers are selected for their works that demonstrate originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Students who receive Gold Key Awards continue to the national competition held each spring in New York City.
