Senior Completes Foundry and Casting

Today was a big day for Strnad Fellow Tiree Walker '17 as months of hard work building a foundry by hand have culminated into one of his first castings. After learning about the intricacies of building and using a foundry, Tiree will continue to study the art of casting, as well as the techniques involved in smelting various metals in addition to aluminum.

Strnad Fellowships enable juniors and seniors with an outstanding ability and passionate interest in a particular area to pursue advanced independent projects of research or inquiry that are often complemented by special courses of study.
