University School had it’s strongest showing to date at this year’s 2017 Governor’s Award Art Competition and Exhibition. Twelve artworks were awarded as regional winners and were selected to be exhibited at the state final in Columbus. Of those twelve, three pieces were accepted as State of Ohio Award Winners. Only 300 total pieces were awarded this honor from over 15,000 entries across Ohio. The winning projects were:
Dante Sudilovsky for his digital print photography, Machined Misery, Top 25 winner
Matthew Holland for his hand-cut paper and foam board, Rising
Christopher Coughlin for his laser-cut and glassine Sculpture
Over 2,000 works of art from across Cuyahoga county were submitted in 10 categories to the regional competition, but only 200 were selected to represent Cuyahoga County’s best. The regional finalists were:
