Jazz Ensemble in New Orleans

Check out these cool cats! The Jazz Ensemble visited New Orleans to see the sights, play a few gigs, and volunteer their time to help rebuild the still-recovering city from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.

The students performed at three venues while in town. Apart from their shows, the students enjoyed touring the city and enjoying the local flavors of New Orleans.

They spent several hours volunteering with Common Ground Relief clearing ground for the re-potting of plants in the Lower 9th Ward of the City. These plants will help form a natural defense for the Mississippi River. The Lower 9th Ward of the city was decimated by Hurricane Katrina and is still recovering today.

The song in the video was performed and recorded by the Jazz Band during this trip.
