3 Students Receive National Art Medals

Dante Sudilovsky '17, Rohan Garg '17 and Dan Accordino '18 have earned national recognition for their artworks in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! They have been identified by panels of creative professionals as some of the most talented young artists in the country. Rohan and Dan were awarded gold medals and Dante was awarded a silver medal. This is the first time ever that US has had two National Gold Medal winners in one year.

Since 1923, the Awards have recognized creative teenagers from across the country. By receiving a Scholastic Award National Medal, they join a legacy of celebrated authors and artists including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Robert Redford, Lena Dunham and many more. More than 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted by students in grades 7–12 this year. Receiving a National Medal places them within the top 1% of all submissions!

Gold Medalists Rohan and Dan are invited to Carnegie Hall in New York City in June where they will receive their awards and view their work in galleries around SoHo.
