In its 91st year, the University School Boys' Day Camp is proving that good things do last!  The camp prides itself in being a safe place where we will teach your son teamwork, sportsmanship, athletic and non-athletic skills, and pride in a job well done.  Our beloved shop program is unique among area camps, and boys love to create and build their own projects in a supervised, safe environment. The city of Cleveland’s oldest operating camp has a strong tradition in combining fun activities with a truly educational experience. We know boys, and we create an environment where they can thrive.

Counselors consist of experienced teachers combined with college and high school assistants. Our younger staff are chosen due to their accomplishments as students and leaders within their own schools, and many were former campers at the Day Camp who have chosen to give back to the program they loved as a child.

A big part of our success comes because we DO limit group size, and more stunning than any other fact is that we maintain a 6 to1 staff to camper ratio!  We spend time getting to know your son and working with him to make his summer an enjoyable one.

Campers swim twice each day (instructional and free swim). Tennis instruction is included in the older groups' programs.  Athletic skills as well as arts and woodwork will be taught by counselors and specialists. Field trips focus on educational as well as recreational opportunities. The extensive indoor and outdoor facilities of the Shaker Campus provide the primary setting for these exciting, challenging, and fun pursuits.

Where else can a boy get a full day of working with outstanding mentors, doing a variety of educational activities including woodshop and arts and crafts, enjoying exciting field trips, participating in fun, organized games and activities using the full range of the school’s athletic facilities, all in a safe and nurturing environment for only $235 a week?!

Condors: Designed with the rising seventh grader in mind, the Condors group is an off-campus “outreach adventure” embarking on activities that make every day exciting.  Boys will participate in the “adventure Kayak series,” Captains baseball, mountain biking, Cedar Point, and much more!  In addition, boys will spend overnights or extended days at our sprawling 220-acre Hunting Valley Campus and fish and hike in Conneaut, Ohio.  On days when boys stay at the Shaker Campus, they will engage in their favorite games and activities ranging from floor hockey to swimming and soccer and everything in between. The Condors is a very popular and truly unique experience, so sign up today as space is limited!

Extended Day options (before and after camp) and shuttle bus services are available.

Campers bring their own bagged lunch and drinks and gather at outdoor picnic tables at lunchtime. Refrigeration is provided.

The Boys’ Day Camp is a full six-week program.  Because of the limit in group sizes, be sure to register early for this popular camp.
