Golf Camp

CAMP FILLED WEEK OF 6-12-19.  SPACE AVAILABLE IN WEEK OF 6-19-17.

BEGINNER GOLF CAMP - 2 SESSIONS AVAILABLE
This camp provides a comprehensive week of golf instruction for the beginner golfer.  Led by University School teacher, coach, and former PGA Apprentice Brady Hurley, the camp will help golfers learn basic swing mechanics of driving, hitting from the fairway, pitching, chipping, sand shots, and putting.  Also taught will be proper golf etiquette, rules of the game, and proper club selection.

A talented staff of high school coaches and golfers will join Coach Hurley each session.  Campers will have golf-related warm-up time, unlimited use of the driving range, and five 9-hole rounds at Shawnee Hills Golf Course (short course).  An instructor accompanies each foursome to reinforce proper swing mechanics, focus, and course etiquette.

Camp fees include greens fees, driving range use, lesson guide, and daily prizes.  Campers bring their own bagged lunch and drinks. Campers must provide their own transportation to and from the golf course.  Register early as each session is limited to 12 golfers.

For questions regarding the Beginner Golf Camp, contact Brady Hurley at bhurley@us.edu or 216.321.8260 ext. 8208.

INTERMEDIATE GOLF CAMP - CAMP FILLED.  CALL 216.292.2148 TO BE PLACED ON THE WAIT LIST.
This camp is designed for the confident players who are looking to take their golf game to the next level.  Learn the fundamentals and mental skills it takes to play a better game of golf that will lead to lower scores.  Players will learn how to effectively strategize their golf game, including gaining the critical components of course management, mental approach, and proper practice techniques.  Instruction will be given on the practice tee and at the putting green, and each afternoon is spent with on-course golf instruction.

Golfers will learn from situations that cannot be taught on the range or in a classroom.   Because over 50% of this game is played inside of 100 yards, we devote half of the on-course time to improving short-game skills, putting, chipping, pitching, and bunker techniques.

Led by University School teacher, coach, and former PGA Apprentice Brady Hurley, instruction will also be provided by experienced US coaching staff member Laura Pickwick.

Campers bring their own bagged lunch and drinks. Campers must provide their own transportation to and from the golf course.  Register early as enrollment is limited to 8 golfers.

In the event that a day of camp is cancelled due to inclement weather, the make-up date is TBD.
