The Young Entrepreneur Camp is geared to students with a high level of interest in entrepreneurship. Through fun games, activities, group projects, and a business simulation program, campers will learn business and marketing strategy, teamwork, and essential problem-solving and leadership skills. Successful entrepreneur guest speakers will share their knowledge of starting and growing their businesses. The camp will include a field trip to a local business to see first-hand how the company operates. Each student will also develop an idea for a business that he or she can start and on the final day pitch his or her idea in a competition for an opportunity to win cash prizes or a start-up loan (for students also participating in Session II) for the business. Every day is filled with interesting and challenging activities to help students learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and creating a start-up business.
Session II of the Young Entrepreneur Camp is for Session I participants who have an interest in further developing their business idea and actually taking their product or service to market. Students will learn about pricing, gross profit, and important financial terms. They will develop marketing materials for their business, and learn effective sales and negotiation techniques, in preparation for opening their business at a local venue towards the end of the week. Session II programming, in partnership with the Young Entrepreneur Institute, will help students further develop their leadership skills and learn financial independence as they launch an actual business of their choosing and participate in a real-world market experience.
Register early! Enrollment is limited to 16 students.
Extended Day options (before and after camp) and shuttle bus services are available.
