University School participates in exchange programs with other high schools in the global community. US boys have the opportunity to study abroad, and US has recently hosted students from Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, and China. Students who participate in these programs keep up with their academics while learning the cultures and traditions of other countries.
An important component of these exchanges is the host family experience, which offers both the international student and the host family significant opportunities to learn from one another. In the past, US host families have felt that hosting was “definitely a great and beneficial experience” that helped their families “learn a lot” and “see things from a different point of view.” We encourage families to volunteer for this wonderful opportunity to enrich their lives and deepen their commitment to global learning.
Hosting an international student has been a memorable and rewarding experience for our family. Our international student is like a son to us and will always be a part of our family. We will treasure him and the experience for years to come.
