    Founded in 1890, University School is a nationally-recognized college preparatory school serving 862 boys, kindergarten through grade 12. The school is a partnership of two campuses in the greater Cleveland area with 455 boys in grades kindergarten through 8 in suburban Shaker Heights and 407 boys in grades 9 through 12 in Hunting Valley.

    In the last 5 years, 25% of the senior class has been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and 100% of upper school graduates matriculate at four-year colleges and universities. The student/teacher ratio is 8/1, and the average class size in the upper school is 14.

    University School seeks a part-time Middle School Spanish instructor for the 2014-2015 school year. Ideal candidates will have native or near-native fluency and experience teaching at the middle school level.     Visual Art and Design Teacher - Shaker Heights, Grades 6-8
    University School seeks a grade 6-8 Visual Art and Design Teacher for the 2014-15 school year. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working in 2D and 3D mediums with middle school boys and the skill set to match. An integral part of the job is mentoring and inspiring students to find their “voice” as artists. The Visual Art and Design Teacher will support the development of cross-curricular, interdisciplinary projects that are rooted in middle school best practices. In addition to the teaching duties, job expectations include acting as a student adviser and extensive involvement in the extra-curricular life of the school.
