Continuous Enrollment

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • What is continuous enrollment?

A process that automatically re-enrolls your son every year until he graduates, or you tell us otherwise.
  • Why are we moving to continuous enrollment?

With over 96% of our eligible families returning each fall, we are simplifying our relationship by eliminating the step of asking families to go online and view and electronically sign their contract. So now, you can sign your contract once and be done until the day your son graduates, or you tell us you aren’t returning. Continuous re-enrollment eliminates the need for annual re-commitment to the US family.
  • What will the Continuous Enrollment contract look like?

The contract will look very similar to all the contracts you have already signed. There will be an additional block of text for you to review before signing and agreeing that your signature is for continual re-enrollment, not a single year contract.
  • What will re-enrollment look like for 2017-2018?

Continuous enrollment will start in January 2017. When you receive notification on January 11th 2017 that your son’s contract for the 2017-2018 school year is available, you will go online and electronically add your signature to this contract. This is the last time you will be asked to sign a contract. This year’s signature indicates that you are enrolling your son until he graduates or until you inform us that he is leaving.
  • What will re-enrollment look like next year?

In January 2018 you will still receive a notification that your son’s 2018-2019 contract is available to view. You WILL NOT need to sign it. In February 2018, unless you have contacted the enrollment office, the contract will be activated and your son will be placed on class lists for the following year.
  • Are there re-enrollment deadlines, like in previous years?

Yes, contracts for the following school year will always be published and be available for viewing in mid-January. From 2018 contracts will already show a signature from the original continual re-enrollment agreement. We will let you know when the following year’s contract (with corresponding tuition and financial aid award, where applicable) will be available. You will have a period of approximately 3 weeks to view the new contract before it is “rolled over” into the following year’s tuition and enrollment database. During those three weeks you do not need to sign the contract, nor do you need to view it if you don’t feel that you need to. If you have questions about your contract during those three weeks you can contact Christina Townsend Hartz, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, Jr K.-12.
  • What happens if my contract has "rolled over" into the following year and I suddenly find out that I need to relocate?

We understand that life can be unpredictable and we always work with families to try to accommodate their needs. We encourage any family who may be considering a move to contact Christina Townsend Hartz as soon as possible. Early conversation and transparency can help our enrollment planning as we consider our budget for the following year.
  • How does this help me?

After signing your contract this year, you no longer need to re-commit yourself to US every year. Your son’s spot in the next grade is guaranteed as soon as his contract is activated. Unless you tell us to hold his contract, his place for the fall is secured and will not be offered to a student from our applicant pool. We understand that emails and messages about re-enrollment are just one part of a parent’s busy life. Continuous enrollment allows you to sign once, and then never need to worry about a missed deadline again.
