William O’Neil has served as the Head Golf Coach since 2002. He has led the US golf team to win three state championships in the past five years. Dr. O’Neil has also been Head Cross-Country Coach as well as the Assistant Track Coach. He is Assistant Headmaster and Dean of Faculty at the Upper School. Dr. O’Neil joined US in 1984 and has been Chairman of the English Department and Director of the Writing Center. He received his Bachelor’s degree in English from Ohio State University and his Master’s and Ph.D. from Yale University. “It is a great pleasure to work with students who are committed to the sport and to play well for each other under pressure during a tournament,” he said.
