US Receives 79 Scholastic Awards!

University School had an impressive year at the 2019 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Competition, a national awards program. This marks the sixth consecutive year that US has achieved such a strong representation at the competition!  VIEW GALLERY  

In the art competition, US students won six Gold Keys, 12 Silver Keys, and 14 Honorable Mentions. In the writing competition, US students won three Gold Keys, 21 Silver Keys, and 23 Honorable Mentions. Jack Rogen won four Gold Keys – three in the art competition and one in the writing competition – and a Silver Key in art. Caleb Peters won a Gold Key, three Silver Keys and one Honorable Mention in the art competition.
 
Students in grades 7-12 in Cuyahoga County submitted 3,600 pieces of artwork and writing samples to be judged. Gold Key winners continue to the national competition in New York City. The student artwork is on exhibit, Jan. 22 to Feb. 9, in the Reinberger Gallery at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
