Grades 1-4 Process

Thank you for your interest in University School’s lower school! There is no fee to apply to University School; please take a look at the following application requirements for grades 1-4. Feel free to email Tamara Whitner or call her at 216.371.6807 if you have any questions.

HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION FILE:
1)     Parent visit
Getting to know University School begins with an on-campus tour for parents. During this visit parents have an opportunity to meet with Director of Admission, Tamara Whitner. Please email Tamara Whitner or call 216.371.6807 to schedule a parent visit.

2)     Student visit
Your son will get to see first-hand what it is like to be a student at US! His visit will consist of a day (or for first-grade applicants, part of a day) spent in one of our classrooms as well as an academic and aptitude assessment. This visit can be scheduled the same day as the parent visit, or you may choose to schedule them separately.

3)     Online Application
Click here to begin your online application.  Once you initiate the online process, you can review and update the application as many times as you wish before submitting it to us.

4)     Evaluation Form
Evaluation forms are an integral part of the admission process. During the application process, you can easily add teacher contact information which will allow teachers to directly submit the necessary information.

5)     School and Transcript Request Form
Please fill out the "Authorization for Release of Records" portion of the "School Report Form" and submit it to your son’s school. His school will complete the form and mail it directly to University School.

OPTIONAL: FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION
The Financial Aid Office at University School aligns with the mission of the school. We hope to provide deserving students an opportunity for an amazing educational experience that may otherwise not be obtainable. Our goal is that no worthy, mission appropriate student be deterred due to financial limitations. To begin the online application for need-based aid, click here: sss.nais.org/parents.
