8th Grade Speaking Contest

Matthew Goldberg '24 won first place for his speech, "Capital Punishment: The Bad and Ugly Truth," about the negative consequences of capital punishment. Julian Berger '24 received second place for his speech, "Why the Electoral College Should Be Abolished." Finalists included Isaiah Gilbert '24, Matthew Devine '24, and Rabih Abboud '24.

Thank you to this year's judges: Mr. Marty Ellis, 108th 8th Grade Speaking Contest Winner; Mr. Tim Kehres, executive director of Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance; and Ms. Jan Fazio, retired upper school English teacher.
