University School inducted 20 seniors into the National Cum Laude Society at a special morning assembly at the Hunting Valley campus.
Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society values qualities of excellence, justice, and honor and recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement in high school. As a member of the Cum Laude Society since 1911, University School honors its principles and follows its requirements for student induction. US's chapter inducts 10 percent of each class at the end of the junior year and another 10 percent after the first semester of the senior year.
James Garrett, secretary of the University School chapter of the Cum Laude Society, inducted the following students:

Dr. Phil Kokotailo, former US English Chair and current Roxbury Latin School faculty member, was the featured speaker at the induction ceremony.
