Sherman Prize Speaking Contest

James Brooks '21 won first place for his speech, "Missing You Betters Me," about the lessons learned upon his grandfather's death. Toussaint Miller '21 received second place for his speech, "Am I My Brother's and Sister's Keeper?", a call to action to his peers about the importance of making an impact. Kevin McMahon '21 won third place for his speech, "Self-Defined," about overcoming personal challenges. Gabriel Wallerstein-King '21, Jeremiah Surratt '21, and Caleb Ford '21 received honorable mention awards.

The speeches were judged based on originality, clarity, organization, and quality of delivery. Thank you to this year's judges: Mr. Matthew Crawford '87, CEO and president of ParkOhio; Mr. Ameer El-Mallawany '01, principal at Campus International High School in Cleveland; and Mrs. Marge Moore, retired US science teacher and lab manager.
