The Class of '35 Political Awareness Essay Contest winners were announced. Essays were judged based on clear and logical thinking about political issues.
Winners are: Ethan Weber '20, 1st place winner for "Trump and Appalachia: A Love Affair Years in the Making"; Sukhm Kang '20, 2nd place winner for "We're Here, We're Queer: How War, Government Oppression and Religious Opposition Created a Gay Identity"; and Eric Areklett '20, 3rd place winner for "No 'Madame President': Elizabeth Warren's Populist Plight". Marcus Novak '21, Henry Massey '20, and Sai Karnati '20, received Honorable Mentions.
