Seniors Awarded National Merit Scholarships

The National Merit® Scholarship Program has announced that seniors Carl Cort and Nate Miller have been named National Merit Scholars, each earning a $2500 scholarship.

Carl Cort has been awarded a scholarship underwritten by The AMETEK Foundation.

Nate Miller has been awarded a scholarship underwritten by National Merit Scholarship Corporation with its own funds.

There are 2,500 National Merit $2500 Scholarships awarded each year. Every National Merit Scholarship Finalist is considered. Winners are named in every state, in numbers based on the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors.

From approximately 1.5 million students who entered the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program when they took the 2020 Preliminary SAT, only about 17,000 students were named Semifinalists. To advance in the competition and be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, a Semifinalist had to become a Finalist by fulfilling several requirements that included submitting a detailed scholarship application and presenting a record of very high academic performance.

Congratulations Carl and Nate!
