Middle School Junior Fellows

Well done to the three Junior Fellows who explored a topic of personal interest and prepared and delivered presentations to their classmates.

Nicholas Kuchik ’28 delivered his Junior Fellows presentation on the Great Northern War to the Middle School! Nicholas put an astounding amount of effort into this research project, reading multiple books on the early 18th-century conflict between the Swedish and Russian Empires and discussing the event with his mentor, William Pomeranz ’78.

Ryan Spacek ’27 completed his Junior Fellows project on coin collecting. After sharing a “teaser” presentation to his peers at a morning assembly summarizing his research, Ryan led a series of small group workshops where they looked closer at the world of coin collecting, learned about the history of coins, and analyzed the imagery on American coins. Ryan was mentored by former faculty member Mr. Chris Barton, and benefitted from the encouragement he received from the organizers of the Cleveland Coin Expo.

Junior Fellow Winston Toplitz ’28 delivered an informative and engaging lecture on Car Design to his Middle School peers. Winston researched principles of car design and designed his own car inspired by the Gran Turismo.
