Debaters Top New York Tournament

In October, eight members of the Speech and Debate team traveled to New York City with coach Mr. James Lewis '00 to compete at the New York City Invitational Debate and Speech Tournament. There were 118 different schools at the tournament representing 23 different states. 

The team of Zaid Ashruf '25 and Aidan Krishnaney '25 competed in Public Forum Debate along with 165 other teams in that event. Zaid and Aidan went 6-1 in the preliminary rounds and then advanced to the final round. They decided to share the tournament championship with their opponents and were named co-champs of the tournament!
