National Scholastic Gold
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards has awarded a 2025 National Gold Medal to Charlie Martin ’27 for his essay entitled “Red Lining and Red Ink: How to Fix the Enduring Inequality in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.” Nearly 110,000 students entered more than 310,000 pieces of art and writing to the 2025 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and only 2,000 are awarded National Gold Medals.
