As part of the Junior Fellows program, Vincent Martino ’31 explored the world of Formula One racing and presented his research to his Middle School peers. He explained how engineering innovations have made F1 cars faster and safer and how concepts like downforce connect directly to the science they study in class.
Taahir Sheikh ’30 completed his Junior Fellows Project on Monday December 15 by sharing what he learned with Grades 6-8 in a presentation during the school day. Taahir has conducted interviews with heart specialists, attended virtual tours of companies innovating in the field, and even built a prototype of a robotic heart surgery device that he hopes will exist someday soon. Additionally, Taahir shared his work with small groups of students last month, which gave him a chance to refine his ideas while giving back to the school community. We are grateful for the way our Junior Fellows demonstrate intellectual character and leadership within our school community. A special thanks to Taahir’s faculty mentor, Mrs. Chris Ann Slye, who provided guidance throughout the Junior Fellows process and has encouraged Taahir’s interest in the field since his time in her Grade 6 sponsor group.
