Speech & Debate Heads to Nationals

The US Speech and Debate team competed at a National Qualifier Speech and Debate Tournament at St. Ignatius in February, earning a district championship for US.

Head coach and former US team member, Mr. James Lewis '00, said, "In my 16 years as a debate coach, and even in my time as a debater here at US, I cannot remember a better result than what we had this past weekend." 

Congratulations to the entire team and these 10 students, a very strong contingent to represent US at the national tournament in Richmond, Virginia, this summer.

Karan Bahl '28, Sahas Chhabra '27, and Anshul Sharma '26 for Lincoln-Douglas Debate
The teams of Will Allen '26 and Colin Broholm '26, and Gavin Chan '28 and Adonis Wazni '26 for Public Forum Debate

Additionally, Tejas Rajagopalan '26 was hand-selected to be a member of the World Schools team, representing the district at Nationals.
