US Defeats Shaker in Home Opener

US prevailed 2-1 with the “Ice Man”, Mitchell Herman getting the batter to ground out with the count full and the bases loaded.  US received outstanding starting pitching from Benson Anderson and solid leadership behind the plate from Matt Kaufman.  Andrew Pokorny and Mitchell Herman had RBI hits and Kaufman and Pokorny scored the two runs.  The team did a great job of maintaining its focus and composure in this tight contest.
