US Loses a Close One to Shore

It appeared as if the deck was stacked against the Preppers when one of their strongest players, James Forbes, went down with a bad ankle sprain very early into the first quarter. Several players stepped up to try to fill Forbes' shoes and the game was neck and neck the whole way. The first quarter ended with US down a point. The half ended with Shore down a point. At the end of the third quarter U.S. was up 23-21. The game came down to a final shot at the buzzer.

U.S. played terrific defense throughout the game. Simon Vadas led the Preppers with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Charlie Voudouris scored 4 points, pulled down 4 boards and had 2 blocked shots. Dixon Wight added 4 points, 2 rebouds, 2 steals and an assist for U.S. Jay Bullock played great defense and helped the team with 2 steals and 2 rebounds and one assist. Mitchell Rehak scored 2 points as did Forbes before he went down. Tre'Vell Swanson also contributed with 3 rebounds. Even though U.S. came up short, it was an excellent team effort for which they should be very proud.

U.S. takes on Geneva Monday, Dec. 14th at Geneva.
