It is 1970, an unsettling year for many young American men who faced the terrifying prospect of being called for military service in the Vietnam War.
University School actors will bring that reality to life in the second rendition of
The Year That Trembled, a Vietnam-era, coming-of-age drama based on the novel by local author and playwright Scott Lax.
The play will be performed in Gund Auditorium at University School's Hunting Valley Campus (2785 SOM Center Road), 44022 on November 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.00 students, $10.00 adults, and $15.00 patrons. Tickets may be reserved by calling (216) 831-2200 or purchased at the door.
Directed by Carol Jaffee Pribble, University School's director of theater, the play centers around four recent high school graduates who share an old farmhouse in the small Ohio town of Chestnut Falls in 1970. The four young men struggle to find love and meaning in their lives as the draft and Vietnam War loom ever-present.
