JP has the 5th fastest time (and the 4th fastest D1 time) in the 3200 meter in Ohio. Nationally, his time of 9:19.02 is the 30th fastest in the 3200 meter.
Nick came in 12th in the Emerging Elite mile race, setting a new personal and school record of 4:22.12. He currently has the 12th fastest time in the 1600 meter run and the 11th fastest D1 time in the state. Nationally, Nick's 4:19.60 is the 48th fastest time in that race.
"This is a tremendous accomplishment for both JP and Nick since they were competing against some of nation's top high school runners," said Robert Moldovan, University School's indoor and outdoor track and field coach and cross country coach. "We are very proud of them."
Both students, who are seniors, qualified for the Indoor Track and Field State Meet in Akron last weekend. Nick, seeded third, ran the 1600 meter, finishing 12th in the state. JP, the fourth seed, was unable to participate due to illness.
