The seventh grade explored Tremont, The West Shore, and North Collinwood as part of their Cleveland Studies: Engaging City Neighborhoods Week. The boys were divided into three groups that each had a unique itinerary, community contribution, and final project directly pertaining their respective neighborhood of study.
The boys interviewed councilmen, spiritual leaders, small business owners, developers, residents, and artists. The seventh graders sought to answer many questions surrounding the health of our city, the issues we face, and the recent wave of optimism and development. They also had time to visit some of Cleveland's long-standing establishments such as the West Side Market, The Beachland Ballrom, Slovenian Workmen's Home and Sokolowski's Restaurant.
Through this study, the boys gained a greater understanding of their surrounding communities and explored opportunities to share their voice and make their mark in the City of Cleveland in the future.
