Grades 9-12 Timeline

Thank you for your interest in University School. The following information and timeline will assist you with the free application process. Email Christina Townsend-Hartz at ctownsendhartz@us.edu or call 216.292.2149 if you have any questions.

CONTACT ADMISSION OFFICE
Available space in the school is limited. We recommend that interested families call as early as possible in the preceding academic year to begin the admission process. If this is your first contact with University School, please click here to complete the online inquiry form:

STEP 1 - APPLICANT VISIT
Arrange a visit to the campus. We require the candidate to spend a day at University School visiting classes, having lunch, and generally seeing the school in operation on a regular school day, which begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. Applicant interviews are conducted by the Admission staff during the visit. Email Christina Townsend-Hartz at ctownsendhartz@us.edu or call 216.292.2149 to schedule an appointment.

STEP 2 - PARENT VISIT
When you bring your son for his visit, we will arrange a tour of the school for you and an opportunity to speak with someone from the Admission Office. If this is inconvenient, an appointment may be arranged for another time.

STEP 3 - SUBMIT APPLICATION MATERIALS
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION: To begin the online application process, create an account by visiting www.us.edu/apply. Parents can review and update the application as many times as they wish before submitting it to us. Please note that even if you have already completed an online inquiry form, you must complete an online application.
  1. STUDENT QUESTIONNAIRE: The student applicant should complete this form after the school visit. Click HERE to complete and submit the questionnaire.
  2. TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS: Fill out the recommendation forms and give them to two different current academic teachers in English or History and Mathematics or Science.  Your son's teachers will complete and mail them directly to University School.
  3. SCHOOL & TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM: Fill out the Authorization for Release of Records portion of the School & Transcript Request Form.  Your son’s school will complete the form and mail it directly to University School.
