Kindergarten Checklist


STEP 1 - ONLINE APPLICATION
To begin the application process, create an online account by visiting http://www.us.edu/apply.  Once you initiate the online process, you can review and update the application as many times as you wish before submitting it to us.

STEP 2 - PARENT VISIT & TOUR
Schedule an appointment to meet with Director of Admission Meagan Salata and discuss your son's educational needs. Please email Gina Wiandt at gwiandt@us.edu or call 216.371.6806 to schedule an appointment.

STEP 3 - APPLICANT TOUR & READINESS ASSESSMENT
This visit is for both boys and parents; it will include a tour along with a readiness assessment.  Parents may email Gina Wiandt at gwiandt@us.edu or call 216.371.6806 to schedule an appointment.  Tours run from late October through mid-February.

STEP 4 - SMALL GROUP EXPERIENCE
The small group experience is a 60-minute session that allows University School Lower School faculty to observe and assess candidates in an environment similar to that of our kindergarten program.  Please email Gina Wiandt at gwiandt@us.edu or call 216.371.6806 to reserve a time for your son. The available dates for this school year are:

STEP 5 - FILE APPLICATION MATERIALS
Deadline:  Friday, February 16, 2018
SCHOOL REPORT FORM:  Fill out the "Authorization for Release of Records" portion of the "School Report Form."  Your son’s school will complete the form and mail it directly to University School.  

TEACHER RECOMMENDATION FORM:  Parents should submit the form to their son’s current teacher.  The teacher will complete the form and mail it directly to University School.  

OPTIONAL - FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION
Deadline:  Friday, February 16, 2018
Financial aid awards at University School are based on need. Our budget is finite, so it is important to apply as soon as possible.  Apply online at sss.nais.org/parents
