As part of their capstone project on food insecurity, eighth graders were challenged to develop an action plan within a set budget to help address this issue in our community. Each group presented their goals along with the challenges their plan might face.
The winning team, which included Walt Edwards, Adam Miller, Will Bach, and Jackson Kline, proposed a vision focused on our Shaker Campus cafeteria. Their plan, which includes analyzing food usage, reducing waste, and finding ways to provide leftovers to others in the community, will be carried out by next year’s eighth-grade class.
