Debate Team Wins First at Forensics Classic

The Speech and Debate Team took first place at the Kenyon College Forensics Classic, hosted by Mount Vernon High School.

Additionally, our Lincoln-Douglas debaters accomplished something, to our knowledge, that has never been done by any team in Ohio. US had a clean sweep: winning all 6 of the top 6 places:  Spencer Kawalek '21 won 6th, Calvin Chesler '19 won 5th, Saavan Patel '20 won 4th, Zach Paganini '19 won 3rd, Nick Protasiewicz '19 won 2nd, and Nehal Chigurupati '20 won 1st place.
 
In International Extemporaneous Speaking, Brady Condon '21 won 6th place.  In US Extemp, Rohit Rakhit '19 won 4th.
 
In Public Forum debate, US had 4 of the top 6 teams: John DeSantis '20 and Stefan Radjenovic '20 won 6th, Sai Karnati '20 and Daniel Yan'21 won 4th, Sukhm Kang '20, and Nathan Mu '22 won 3rd, and Kiran Krishnamurthi '19 and Zak Quereshy '22 won 1st.
