Adam Tropper ’17 was one of 300 students in the United States who qualified for the next level of competition for the selection of the country’s top 20 high school physics students.
As a semifinalist, Adam qualifies to take the final exam in March. The top 20 scoring students on that exam will be named to the U.S. Physics Team, five of whom become the traveling team that will represent the United States at the international competition, this year in Indonesia in July.
All University School students in AP and Post AP Physics took the first qualifying exam for 2017 competition. US students Ben Hebert '17 and Dylan Laurianti '19 scored very well and deserve honorable mention.
The competition is sponsored by The American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Institute of Physics. The mission of the U.S. Physics Team program is to promote and demonstrate academic excellence through preparation for and participation in the International Physics Olympiad.
